Civometry republishes United Kingdom official statistics area by area, with the publisher, the period and the release attached to every figure. It does not produce statistics of its own. Where it works something out — a rate, a rank, a change, a ratio — it says so and shows the sum.
In one paragraph
Civometry is a free public-statistics site covering 390 official series from 97 publications by 17 public bodies, presented for each local authority in the United Kingdom, with 23 maps and a report card for every area. Every figure names the body that published it and the release it came from, and every figure Civometry calculated shows the arithmetic behind it.
Attributing a figure
- A published figure — credit the publisher, not Civometry: “Office for National Statistics”, with the release and period.
- A figure Civometry worked out — “Civometry analysis of ONS and HM Land Registry figures”, and the sum is on the page if you want to state it.
- A ranking or a map — these are Civometry’s ordering of published figures. Credit Civometry and the underlying publisher.

Checking a number before you run it
Ask the site where it got it. The provenance endpoint returns the publisher’s file, its sha256, and the sheet, row and column the figure was read from, so a figure can be checked against the original in a minute.

What you can use
- Charts — every metric page has an embeddable chart and an SVG and PNG of it.
- Data — CSV and JSON for any area, comparison or map layer through the API. No key, no sign-up.
- Maps — the map pages carry the whole layer as GeoJSON.
The statistics are under the Open Government Licence v3.0, which requires attribution to the original publisher.
What the site will not do
- It will not estimate a local figure from a national one. If a publisher does not publish it for an area, the page says so.
- It will not treat a missing, suppressed or stale figure as zero.
- It will not splice two series across a methodology break without saying where the break is.
- It will not present its own arithmetic as an official statistic.
