What is the population of each religion in each local authority in years between censuses?

Partial Official data answers part of the question: some categories, some years, some geographies or one stage of a process.

Why

Religion is measured in the Census (2011 and 2021, down to output area) and is not part of the ONS mid-year population estimates. Between censuses ONS published experimental estimates by religion for 2019 at national and regional level only, stating that local authority estimates were not possible because Annual Population Survey sample sizes were too small, and a one-off ad hoc table of religion by local authority for 2011 to 2018 with sampling caveats. No annual local series has followed.
