Denominator

Coverage
Home Office Res_D01 covers every UK council that received resettled people in a quarter. Councils volunteer for resettlement schemes; a council with no arrivals has no row.

Stale areas

Method
Methodology

What this does not measure

A caseload or the number of resettled people living in the area now: these are arrivals in the quarter, and people move after arrival. Asylum seekers and people granted status through the asylum system are not resettlement cases and are not counted here.

Arrivals in the quarter through resettlement schemes, credited to the authority that received them — a flow, not a count of resettled people living there now. Authorities volunteer for resettlement schemes, so a zero often means the council did not take part that quarter rather than that no refugees live there. Rows for authorities since abolished are counted in the UK figure but cannot be shown on a current council page.

A quarterly flow. A council with no row took no arrivals that quarter — usually because it was not participating in a scheme — and the map shows no data rather than zero because the file publishes no zeros.
