What these figures establish
The maps establish the share of pupils recorded as White British in each area in the two academic years, as the Department for Education published them.
They do not establish why the share changed, what any pupil's nationality or place of birth is, or anything about pupils outside state-funded schools.
How it is made
Pupils on roll in state-funded schools in England at the January school census, by the ethnic group the school recorded from what parents or pupils declared. "Unclassified" is a category the publisher prints and is part of the denominator, so a share can fall because more pupils are unclassified as well as because fewer are in the group. Shares are the publisher's own.
The change column is the later share minus the earlier share, in percentage points. Nothing is estimated, weighted or adjusted by Civometry.
