Ranked by share of the denominator, per cent, highest first; ties in alphabetical order. Areas without a value are not ranked.

What this map shows

650 of 650 constituency areas have a current value for winning margin (share of the denominator, per cent), General election, 4 July 2024. Classes are quantiles of the areas with data, computed on the server, so the same link always gives the same legend.

The winner's majority as a share of valid votes — how far the seat was from changing hands.

Source and method

Data
General election results (House of Commons election results platform) (UK Parliament).
Denominator
For turnout, the registered electorate of the constituency; for winning margin, the valid votes counted. Both are the platform's own declared figures for the contest.
Coverage
The whole United Kingdom: all 650 constituencies declared a result.
Boundaries
ONS Open Geography Portal generalised boundaries, Open Government Licence v3.0 (2024-07 BGC Westminster_Parliamentary_Constituencies_July_2024_Boundaries_UK_BGC).
Basemap
Ordnance Survey Maps API (Light), used under the OS Data Hub terms.
Formula
numerator ÷ denominator × 100. For turnout, ballots cast (valid plus rejected) ÷ registered electorate; for winning margin, the winner's majority ÷ valid votes, all as declared.
Stale areas
Areas without a current value are shown as no data, never as a value.

What this does not measure

Who won each seat, with names, parties and the full candidate table, is on each constituency's own page. A winning-party map needs a categorical colouring the map system does not draw yet, so it is not offered; nothing numeric is used to fake it.
