Where does Britain stand against the last figures before March 2020?

For every series that published a figure for a period ending before March 2020, the table gives that figure, the newest one, and the difference between them. It is a comparison of two dates. Everything that happened in between sits inside the gap, and this page does not say which of it accounts for the difference.

Of the 228 series compared, 185 are higher than their last pre-March-2020 figure and 43 are lower. 104 series begin after that date and cannot be compared. 5 are excluded because the publisher changed the methodology between the two dates, so the figures would not measure the same thing.

The number of periods in between is given for each series, because a monthly series has published dozens of figures since then and an annual one has published five. Money is in cash terms unless the publisher deflated it: a rise in pounds over these years is partly a rise in prices.
